Pete AlbrechtPeter Albrecht has been representing employers for more than 25 years. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with honors. After law school, Pete practiced in Chicago for 8 years before relocating to Madison, where he became a shareholder in the law firm of Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. After nearly 13 years with Godfrey & Kahn, Pete realized a longtime dream of opening his own firm: Albrecht Labor & Employment Law, S.C. opened its doors in December 2006. With the addition of partner Bradden Backer in September 2009, that firm became Albrecht Backer Labor & Employment Law, S.C.

Pete has been selected as a "Super Lawyer" in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, and he was included in the 2010 and 2011 editions of Best Lawyers in America. In addition, Best Lawyers in America named Pete the 2012 Lawyer of the Year in Labor and Employment Litigation in Madison.

In a survey of in-house corporate councils, Pete was named one of the top 25 employment attorneys in the country with respect to client service, legal skills, results and value.

Pete has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Pete is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and Illinois. He has argued cases in various administrative agencies, trial courts, and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a frequent speaker on topics related to employers and employees.

Pete is married with 4 children and has a beagle named Butkus.
